Joining hands with IVE, AsiaWorld-Expo signs a Memorandum of Understanding with the Institute to offer internship opportunities in the Conference and Exhibition industry. Under the partnership framework, AsiaWorld-Expo will provide comprehensive internship training to IVE students across different disciplines of the industry including event management and business development. Upholding its continued commitment in Corporate Social Responsibility, AsiaWorld-Expo is entrusted to strengthen the industry’s competitiveness through continuous nurturing of the new generation.

AsiaWorld-Expo is named the “Best Exhibition and Convention Centre” in the 11th CAPITAL Outstanding Enterprise Awards for the second consecutive year. This highly regarded award is organised by Capital Magazine, one of Hong Kong’s top finance and business magazines, to honour outstanding achievements in service to customers and society.

AsiaWorld-Expo has received the Safety Awareness Award in the Catering Establishment, Restaurants (non-Chinese) category of the Catering Industry Safety Award Scheme. This important award scheme is organised by the Labour Department, the Occupational Safety and Health Council and a number of key stakeholders in the industry to recognise companies with a commitment to occupational safety and health awareness.

Concurrent with the “River of Wisdom – Animated Version of the Riverside Scene at Qingming Festival” Exhibition, AsiaWorld-Expo held its first Open House. Members of the public could view the renowned exhibition, conference, banquet and concert venues, including AsiaWorld-Arena, Hong Kong’s largest indoor seated entertainment venue and Runway 11, the venue’s latest conference and event hall, to learn more about AsiaWorld-Expo, and the role it plays in welcoming the world’s top business and entertainment events.

AsiaWorld-Expo played host to the high-profile “River of Wisdom – Animated Version of the Riverside Scene at Qingming Festival” Exhibition, which smashed Hong Kong’s record for ticket sales by day and by hour at a single event or exhibition. The exhibition ended on a high note on 29 November 2010 and welcomed over 900,000 visitors over 21 days.

AsiaWorld-Expo hosted the first indoor massive petting zoo in Hong Kong. Held as the inaugural event in a series of 5th Anniversary celebratory activities, "Happy Farm@AsiaWorld-Expo" received overwhelming public response and provided a groundbreaking new experience for the community.

AsiaWorld-Expo has been named ‘Best Exhibition and Convention Centre’ in the 10th CAPITAL Outstanding Enterprise Awards. Organised by CAPITAL, South China Media, the awards are designed to recognise Hong Kong’s most vibrant and forward-looking businesses, honouring them both for their achievements and for their contribution to the local economy.

In recognition of its commitment to service excellence, AsiaWorld-Expo has been recognised as the winner of the celebrated Prime Awards for Brand Excellence in International Exhibition Service. Now in its 5th year, the Prime magazine awards are judged by a panel of industry and community leaders.

For the second consecutive year, the Hong Kong Council of Social Service (HKCSS) has awarded AsiaWorld-Expo its prestigious Caring Company logo. The company has also received an Outstanding Partnership Project Award, which is the top honour awarded to a Caring Company, acknowledging its pioneering work with vulnerable members of the community as well as contributions to the society by creating employment opportunities and providing vocational training for the socially disadvantaged members of the society.

AsiaWorld-Expo’s award-winning F&B team won the top prize in a popular culinary competition ”California Strawberry Cooking Contest 2008” that attracted interest from over 60 teams across Hong Kong.

Confirmation of new and recurrent major exhibitions and conventions as well as new accreditations for corporate social responsibility with Caring Company status and Indoor Air Quality certification marked the second anniversary of AsiaWorld-Expo.

A seven-day concert tour by local singing sensation, Aaron Kwok, marked a new level of popularity for the 13,500-seater AsiaWorld-Arena. The Arena showed off the full extent of its entertainment abilities with the construction of a Guinness record-breaking 450° revolving stage, which brought the Hong Kong pop-star thrillingly close to his fans. The success of the Aaron Kwok concerts put AsiaWorld-Arena firmly on the map as a stunning entertainment venue, and a string of other popular local acts soon followed.

Asian Aerospace International Expo and Congress, the World's largest civil aerospace event, has moved to AsiaWorld-Expo from September 2007 after 25 years in Singapore. There were more than 500 exhibitors from 20 countries including Airbus industries and Boeing.

AsiaWorld-Expo celebrated its first anniversary. ITU TELECOM WORLD 2006, the largest trade exhibition cum forum event ever held in Hong Kong, were attended by 700 top-notch exhibitors from 37 countries, including 150 from Mainland China and around 62,000 trade visitors from 141 countries.

A series of China Sourcing Fairs organised by Global Sources was relocated from Shanghai to AsiaWorld-Expo since April 2006.

Oasis, one of UK's hottest rock n'roll bands, performed at AsiaWorld-Arena. It was the first international concert of the venue.

The much anticipated AsiaWorld-Expo, Hong Kong's largest exhibition and events complex located at the Hong Kong International Airport, was opened on 21 December 2005 by Mr. Donald Tsang, Chief Executive of HKSAR (6th from right) and senior representatives of the shareholding and management companies.
